The Early Holiday Gift

We are just into the second week of November and it is already holiday gift time. In this case it is my gift to me. One of those occasions when only the best will do…

In this case the best turned out to be a result of the recent hospital stay…I had time all day to haunt YouTube and discover some of the videos presented by Phil Flory from the UK. I ran through all his airbrushing ones, then as many of the paint ones as I could find, and finally started on the kit reviews. Then they sent me home. But while I was able to concentrate on the videos, I saw a review he did on a Mr Hobby product, and the presentation stuck in my mind.

The product was a Mr. Hobby Procon airbrush kit. He reviewed a .02 nozzle brush and was so taken with it that he deemed it the best bargain brush on the market. I searched through eBay after this and found a Japanese dealer selling them.

in my case, I wanted the same setup but with a slightly wider nozzle – the .03 version – and I sent off the Paypal money. Yesterday the courier honked his horn in the driveway and there it was…my new airbrush.

There is nothing to setting these things up. Plug them into the air line, set the compressor working, and load the cup. It is by far and away the most precise brush I have, and once I get the pressure setting right, should take over everything but the clear and metallic painting.

Happy Holidays, and that can now include Thanksgiving and Airbrush Day.
