A recent look at a modelling forum site was really horrifying…not because the scale models were bad, or because the people were painful, but because the procedure to send them any pictures of your models was so complex as to defy description. Protocols and electronic permissions to the walls…

We are not generally in this hobby to be computer whiz-kids. Some are, and good luck to them, but most are average people who work with their hands. Thus, complex checks and long-winded computer workflow issues tend to push people away.

I daresay there is a real reason for the computer barriers that are set up, and that those barriers can be surmounted if you take the careful steps…but unless you are making money from the hobby or are vindicating your reputation, the whole thing can seem all too much.

I am prepared to make it easier for the people viewing this page. I hereby grant a one-time for all-time permission for them to look at their computer screen and read what I write. Furthermore, they can look at the pictures and make appreciative noises. It is not necessary to send flowers or other tokens of respect, but equally, do not let me deter you…

As far as copyrighting, licensing, leasing, or selling anything to anyone, I leave that to the grim and the determined. I will just keep posting and let it all go out to the world with my blessings. There is little enough happiness these days without demanding a fee for it.
