I have nursed an ambition for some while – ever since I saw pictures of a number of western helicopters that had red troop seats. The seat backs seemed to be made of red nylon webbing and hung loosely over solid fabric bottoms. I suspect they were a dual purpose thing – the solid cloth bottoms could function as impromptu casualty stretchers. But it was the bright red webbing seen through the helo’s windows that attracted me.
How pleased I was that Italeri had provided webbing seat backs for the Banana – and they got a coat of flat red as soon as I could get to the gun.

The kit provides separate doors on port and starboard and these can be posed – though not slid – along their rails. I am going to show them open so that those seats can be appreciated.
As the rest of the aircraft is red, white, and blue, this is going to be a bit of an eye catcher on the tarmac.

Undercoated.

Third colour on.
