Well, another day and another visit…
I strolled down the paint aisle today to discover the SMS paints that I had reviewed yesterday gone from the shelves – an empty paint rack with their name on it where they once were. Leading me to a series of speculations:
a. Did they not sell? They were there for months in their dedicated rack. Though the rack was moved back and forth along the paint aisle, it always had paint in the slots…plus thinners and brush cleaners. As they seem to be gone too…
b. Has it all been sent back to the maker? Is there a sale-or-return clause for supplies to a hobby shop? I’d be surprised at that, as there are a lot of other things there that seem to have been there since Adam was in asking for a 50¢ Airfix Spitfire.
c. Were they crook? I admit to having a shaky start with the interior green, but the PRU blue sprayed a treat on the AIrfix Sabre, and a reduction in air pressure set the interior green right.
d. Was the price too high? Remember I said each bottle was $ 10 rather than the standard $5 of Tamiya or GSI Creos…but that the pre-dilution and extra amount of paint in the bottle seemed to make up for it.
e. Am I just going blind? Were the paints moved somewhere else and I just didn’t discover them? Another visit on the weekend should answer that question.
