I’ll murdalize ya! Just lemme up!
The building table was well in use in our heading shot as I sought to get the tailplanes level and even on the Wellington Mk 1C. The fuselage had been cemented with Humbrol Poly tube cement due to an article I found featuring a build of this same plane. The internet author had trouble with thin cements not making enough contact with the Czech mouldings to keep the fuselage together. Apparent he also had wings crack off – I was taking no chances so I used the tube cement and left things to dry overnight.
Give credit where it is due – the mating surfaces for both wings and tailplanes were flat and apposite – the glue joints when set left no need for anything more than a brush over with Mr. Dissolved Putty and a light scrape.
Also give credit where due – the undercoat is Mr. White Base 1000 and it obscures nothing of that geodesic pattern. Once there is a reflecting pigment there you’ll see what you want to see. The Mr. White Base was $ 9.00 a jar and will have a number of bombers in it – an equivalent in a Tamiya rattle can would also be a good finish but at 2-3 times the cost. This is one of those occasions where it pays to shop about for the material you want – also pays to have a old trigger airbrush that can be dedicated to these thicker solutions.

One of the few good uses for the darker backdrop boards – the Ghost Wellington.
