And fini’d very well, I might add. The usual number of minor errors and hidden mistakes, but then that is par for the course.
The D.520 paint job is not perfect – I was trying the freehand spray technique with the pressure on the airbrush turned down to 8 psi and a very thin mixture. I think that this could combine with hand-held masks to make a viable technique – all you need to do is tighten up the edges a little. The next bargain kit will become a paint mule for this.

I cannot praise Hobby Boss enough for the sturdy nature of their landing gear – positive interlocking with the wings and correct angulation makes for success in this scale.

Ditto their canopy work. It was a breeze to pen-paint it to a good standard. I admit to the occasional overrun, but I’ve found you can correct this in a half hour with a sharpened cocktail stick soaked in metho without harming the clarity of the plastic canopy.

Am I bothered by the join between the canopy and the fuselage? This is May 2020 and I have bigger things to worry about.

Note that HB decals release in 6 seconds and float down perfectly with Mr. Mark Setter.
Now to locate some Potez, Bloch, and Amiot planes to add to the mix. And another, better, Renault-Caudron. The last one was a Polish fright.
