Ray Stevens once had a big hit song in which he suggested that everything is beautiful in its own way. I take it that Mr. Stevens never saw a Brewster Bermuda half-way through a camouflage job. I’m building it and I rather like the Brewster airplanes but even so I think it’s as ugly as sin.

The good news is it only needs to be like that for a short period – the AK acrylic lacquers dry within a very short space of time and you can peel off the layers of masking tape and Tuff Tac. It is aways like an advent calendar – you are breathless to see what you’ve got.

The AK does airbrush beautifully, but I am not quite so sure whether it grips the Mr Primer Surfacer as well as the GSI Creos products – I found a few lift patches on the ” sky ” underside. Fortunately the colour has not been altered so you can brush patch it easily.
The next test will be to see if the AK can be utilised straight from the bottle in the bow pen. That’s a big old canopy to do. Brewster probably had shares in a Plexiglass factory…
