Voici le NC900. Produit de l’SNCAC a Cravant en France.

This is a product of the S.N.C.A.C. from parts and items found in a disused chalk quarry in Cravant near Auxerre in the centre of France. These were made up after the war as an interim squadron for the French Air Force – some 20 examples made by combining fuselages, wings and motors from different sources.
It was basically the 190A with all the advantages and drawbacks of the type but a unique story. I must believe it as it has been posted on a model airplane forum ( ! ) but it appears that the S.N.C.A.C. NC900 fighter was unreliable in many ways…and this may have been due to wartime sabotage performed by French workers compelled to make them for the German war effort. A case of the biter bit.

Whatever the truth of that is, there are numerous profiles and actual photos of the NC900 so it was easy to copy. I wish I had a laser decal printer that would make clear decals – I could have detailed the tail far more. But I have decided that if I cannot exactly copy a scheme’s numbering or specific graphics, I will do the best I can and apply additional numbers or letters as I encounter them.

The Hasegawa kit is excellent as far as the clear parts go – and as it has provided the means for an open canopy I have decided to take it. So many of the cheaper kits have thick, fogged glazing – it is a pleasure to get onto the good stuff.
