I like grey primer on aircraft. It makes them look like the old hard rubber recognition models you used to encounter in yard sales. I wish now that I had taken advantage of those buying opportunities.
And it raises an interesting question – could a person build up a valid aircraft collection with the planes primed in the grey – and not go further with colour schemes. There is certainly a wide variety of prototypes that have been modelled. But then again part of the charm of models is the colouration – not just the shape.

Well, that’s coming. At present it is Mr. Surfacer 1000 undercoat and the nose plugged with a putty stopper. Reminds you of Wonder Woman’s invisible airplane from the comic books. And I believe Dassault experimented with a version of the 450 that had side intakes to leave space in the nose for an intercept radar set.
