Well, that’s where they were, after all…though mine shall not be one of the early Luftwaffe raiders from the battle of Britain.
The one evening also describes how much was done by just patiently assembling parts that had no need of under-painting quite yet. The wings are together with engines on – and very precise they are too.
The tail is together, plumb and straight.
The fuselage is taped dry to help pre-visualisation. Again it is a tribute to the precision that Airfix could achieve when They wished to. The wing roots and leading edges far exceed the FROG Dornier Do.17K in precision and smooth form.

And the joy of it all is the wheels tucked into their fairings. There was no need to assemble the wheels separately and glue them in two doors – Airfix made the closed-door version ready to just cement into the nacelles. Too easy.
Tomorrow the special part gets made and the new idea will start to take shape.
