If you are a little put out that you only get to see the start of this build and then the finished product, remember that this is a very simple Heller kit repackaged by the Poles. There is not all that much to see during the building process – it just cemented together in one afternoon and then it was on to the decoration.
And the decoration was not all that tough – I had decided to back-date the MB 152 to the MB 150 ( few externally visible differences ) to allow me to escape from the French tri-colour camouflage. One day I will welcome this sort of pattern and rush to paint it…but that day is not today.

The MB 150 was the prototype for the rest of this series. Fortunately Google yielded three pictures of the thing in flight. I carved off the kit’s machine guns and it was ready for paint.

Bless Mr. Color Metallics – they spray flawlessly and there is enough of a variation in their silvered range to get a good patchwork on a lot of bare-metal planes. I do have a bottle of Alclad and in the spirit of frugality will use it one day…but again that day is not today.

Marcel’s in there, though he sits somewhat low in the seat. Perhaps he has an appreciation of what will happen when the MB 150-series encounters the Messerschmitt fighters. You can’t rewrite history, and some of it makes you wince a little.

Again a success from the Heller stable of models. I have come to appreciate them as good kits – no matter who presents them. I have a small list of types that I would like to build and will snatch them from the shop shelves as they may appear. They are out of production in many instances but the appearance of this re-box suggests that the moulds have just been put on the storage shelf and can be dusted off again at will.
Roll on the day.
