Mais what bleu is it? It is Mr. Color 322 Pthalo-cyane blue. It is also marked as JASDF Blue Impulse. This is for their aerobatics display team. I hope they don’t mind me pinching the hue for the French navy.

The business of a naval blue is enough to start a blue anywhere. I have 6 different pots of Tamiya and Mr Color blue paints that could be used for naval aircraft and none of them looked right. They look right on US or UK aircraft but not this particular one. Yes. I know illustrations lie, but you have to start believing somewhere.

Note the tail feathers have a French insignia blue that differs markedly from the body of the aircraft. I find that these markings are best served by the Mr. Color 110 Character blue. it was probably aimed at the Gundam people but I’ll take my paint pots where I find ’em.
