Every kit fits. Some do so in the same places as the prototype does – some do wherever the parts touch…
This ex-Mastercraft PM model is one of the latter variety, albeit with a few good features. The fuselage halves are straight and can be clamped into being gap-less. The wing is another matter. You are faced with a wing that meets the fuselage evenly, albeit sunk in so the lower body line is hopelessly wrong.

Or you can correct the lower fuselage line and look through from one wing root out the other side. I opted for this as I knew the Mr. White Putty would easily bridge the gaps. Just to be sure I was not fooling myself I reviewed videos of the T-38 taking off and noted the underside.

The putty is thick, and had to be applied in layers. The end result in white base coat is no beauty, but it should at least hold a coat of paint. I was grateful…or is that great fill?
