It looks as if our two favourite Canadian pilots – Wayne And Gordie – have a new mount.
The BAE CT-155 Hawk is on the line at Moose Jaw and the new commemorative scheme is finally done. The stencilling and decaling took two weeks, though this is because it was a club build and we only met once a fortnight. The final assembly was remarkably fast once the components were completed.

The side-opening canopy with the integrated explosive cord is somewhat of a novelty and I have treated it as well as I could. The final fit in a closed position was not all that good so up it came. Fortunately our two Canuck heroes are well detailed and fill the seats. They are even two separate poses.

I was pleased that the blade aerials stayed on, though the pitot was never going to be a viable plastic proposition. It’s brass wire drilled into place. Everything else is straight OOTB.

Weathering? Not on your nelly – not with all that painting and decaling. I have an internet picture of this exact plane out on the Moose Jaw taxi strip with W and G at the controls and it is pristine. You don’t paint a squadron commemorative and then let it rot. The ghosts would get you.
