1932 Chrysler – Part Three – Fenders Or Wings?

Depends which side of the Atlantic or Pacific you are when you’re motoring.

I call ’em fenders and British people call them wings – both are just as valid. What gets to be confusing, though, is when the English people start speaking about near-side and off-side wings. Right and left are also good English terms and are pretty well understood. The two directions apply whether one is driving in London or New London.

The fit of the fenders is good, as I mentioned in the last post. But the piece fits in such a way that it covers the entire frame – you are unsure where the cement will actually be needed.

Enter PVA glue. If I have one of these indeterminate fits I resort to the Selleys PVA and accept that I’ll need to leave it to set overnight. Should it turn skew-whiff I can soak it in a pan of cold water and eventually separate the parts.
