The commander of Uszhitmi Aerodrome can rest easy – the Austin armoured car is now fit for deployment on the perimeter of the field.

Whether this will deter intruders from getting in or defectors from getting out is a matter of conjecture. In any case the car is adorned with a patriotic slogan so whoever gets machine-gunned can take comfort that it is for the good of the Motherland.

One of my first attempts at oil-wash weathering, too. The sort of a subject that is hard to over-do. The precisely engraved detail makes the contrast quite rewarding and rust against green always looks heavy.

I hope this firm makes more useful vehicles – I shall be a customer.
