S.P. – Part Six – A Dollar

I have never spent my money better. Even if it was only a single coin.

The Mirage company may be big or little, but whichever, they make a good product. This unexpected purchase has proved to be successful, and will form the basis of an entire museum.

The model is not without flaw. Anyone trying to drive on front wheels positioned as those on the kit would have an interesting experience. The rear door was put on wrong way. But the whole has proven to be greater than the sum of the parts. The only extra needed is a plinth or grass stand for it.

Was an armoured car of this nature a good tactical idea? Depends upon who the enemy was to have been and where it was to have been deployed. That reflection also applied to the famous Polish cavalry regiments mounted on horses…

The weathering for this one is very light – just a basic enamel wash of diluted grey and brown. The prototype is considered to exist in a public museum and subject to maintenance and the occasional repaint by the staff. Suffice it to remember that it is an old warrior and excuse any imperfections.
