Did goe to the Swappe Meete and was greatley entertained. And did spende a very few coins to purchase my pleasures.
One of the pleasures was this Polish model of a Gloster Javelin Mk9. Keen eyes will recognise it as the FROG mould that has been in eastern European hands for some time now. Mister Craft has pushed out two reboxings. This one is from Chematic, which seems to be a Polish store but the factory may be Gomix, which is Fly models. It is all a little uncertain, but in any case this is much the same set of moulds, I’m sure.

And they are a surprisingly good set. We’re talking late 50’s or early 60’s FROG, remember. At least the factory in Poland is squirting out reasonable plastic – it cuts and sands well. The sink marks and flash are all within repairable limits.

It is a big kit of a big plane. The mouldings are not thin – there is a a lot of plastic in the thing cardboard box.

The instructions ask either a basic command of the Polish language or the sort of resourcefulness that can imagine its way in the dark without hitting the edge of the coffee table with your big toe.. The decal sheet actually looks good, in as basic a form as it was supplied in the old days.

It is what it is, and it will be what it will be, and if you stop reading now you’ll be spared any more vacuous comments. But rejoice with me – I think I have a definite winner here for the collection – and I know I have the bargain of the week. It cost me $ 5.00.
