Rack off, anorak. I found the colour call-out sheet with this MPM model very pleasing and I am going to follow their instructions.

I also found a number of images on Google that told me about details of the real thing. They are not in colour, but the tones of the photos are accurate.

The business of correct paint colours permeates to every level of scale model hobbies – even to the fantasy painters who might reasonably be permitted their own opinions almost without fetter. I’ll bet even they have their anoraks.

This colour choice is unique in my collection – a combination designed to cope with a specific theatre of war and mode of operation. Of course I will build it clean, as is my wont, and of course the real aircraft were never clean…but you need to provide some nourishing cause for complaint to the anoraks – they are delicate creatures.
