Sukhoi Su-22 Fitter – Part One – First Of The Fifty Cent Series.

First cab off the rank is the Academy Sukhoi Su-22 Fitter.

The tiny box contains three tiny sprue trees – two in hard grey plastic and one clear. There is no flash whatsoever and no sinkholes are evident.

Surprisingly, there is room in the cockpit for a separate seat and instrument panel. The canopy is two-pieced so it can be open if the aircraft is on the ground.

The instruction panel is decent and the decals are…decals. I’ll let you know in the build conclusion what they released like. I’m impressed by the paint guide that quotes accurate FS numbers as well as descriptions.

This will go to the weekly Men’s Shed club morning as a raw experience. The other members laugh at me for building 1:72 so they ought to go hysterical when I pull this one out of he bag.

My plans for the Fifty Cent Series are to build them wheels-up and flying off a series of old Airfix display stands. I’ve been sitting on them for years and this seems as good a time as any to use them.
