And not before time.
I made a model of the Fairey Swordfish from the new Airfix mould some time ago and promised myself to do another on wheels – this time with torpedo armament.

The previous one was on floats and in pre-war colours. This was so pleasing that I have decided the new model will also be silver, flying off HMS ARK ROYAL. I know they served in wartime in camouflage, but the decal sheet of this Airfix model is so appealing that I have melted again.

There should be no real difference between this and the previous one as far as wing structure and tail go – and indeed I noticed with the last kit that they had left the landing gear legs and wheels on the sprue trees anyway.

But I know that a second build will go all that much smoother for the familiarity it possesses.

Yes, Virginia, there is an Airfix, and it lives in the heart of many modellers. If called to, many of us would eschew other brands and build their products exclusively – if only for nostalgia. Could you restrict yourself to one brand only? Which one would it be? Why?

A topic for another day. Think hard until then.
