I shall never understand the remark that someone once made about silver-finish aircraft being boring.
The amount of work that goes into preparing a model for a silvered finish – and the sheer terror involved in spraying it – would seem to be enough excitement for anyone. Follow this with decaling and sealing and you can readily see why they make adult diapers…

I have done a little experimenting, as well, with the masking fluids available here in the Little Workshop, and I am coming to the conclusion that the Mr. Hobby Neo product is the best – provided you cut it with a bit of water. It was used to occlude the windows on this airliner and – not to deliver a spoiler – they were easy to unmask att he end and left a good clean edge. I will continue to use up all the other masking solutions in their little bottles – because I am frugal – but will settle on the Neo after that.

The paint for this aircraft is Mr Color Super Metallic 208 – Duraluminium. It is sprayed over a Mr Color Base White. The best shine develops if you thin the paint with Mr Color Rapid Thinner and spray in light, fast coats. It is shiny and smooth enough to let you decal it without an intermediate gloss coat.
