Not Every Good Idea…

Is good. Brains do burp occasionally…

One of my episodes these last few months centred around building some 1/144 scale fighter planes – my Fifty Cent Fighters. The kits went together well and the painting was a lot of fun; a lot more successful than I expected.

But one of my ideas for putting the models on Airfix stands has just not worked out. The attachment points come undone, the stands look awkward, and some of the models have belly-flopped in the club display case. Time to re-think.

I am going to take them out of the cabinet, transport them home, and prise them off the Airfix stands. Them I am going to break out the good old jigsaw, some MDF board and metal coat hangers, and make small round bases with vertical poles – and these are going to plug into the fuselage of each plane. The Airfix stands were free, and can now freely decorate the bin.
