I’m afraid the idea of an amphibian Moth just didn’t make it – particularly when I saw some internet images of the real thing.
There is a 60 flying right now from British fields as a private plane with the same colour scheme and nearly the same registration. And I have ambitions for a British airfield…

The kit was really very precise to build. The major parts fitted perfectly with no filler needed. The struts and gear were a little bumpy as the sprue feed channels were bigger than the parts, but as least these did not break on removal.

The decals were also a lot better than I expected. I am particularly proud of how the side strip was put on to separate the colours.

I do not think I will build more Avis De Havillands unless the shop prices come down – and with the Ukrainian situation I do not expect them to. But this will make a nice companion to a civil Tiger Moth from Airfix – if one turns up at a stash sale.
