Watching For The Delivery

Or, not every on-line transaction is seamless.

The order for the little die-cast motor cars was made after careful consideration – I was going to need specific years and types to enhance my 2025 exhibition layout. Good sense would gather the elements needed now while they are still available.

The net. A shop in South Australia ( probably run from a garage ) could provide the models. I could provide the credit card number. The deal was done and the order recorded. I would get to me in a week.

Not one week, as it happened. Nor two, nor three…and at a month I decided to ring the firm. A real person answered and when tasked with the delivery was quite nonplussed. Apparently the day it was ordered and the money received was a day of illness – and all memory of it had disappeared.

To his credit, he was most apologetic, and set about packing and dispatching on the spot. THIS time the parcel did arrive in a week and contained the goods plus some little souvenirs as an apology.

It pays to pay attention to the on-line orders you make – and keep the records.
