Carrie Nation’s Guide To Airbrushing

Stay away from Mick, John, and Dick. They have dangerous ideas.

A recent discovery of a cheap Canadian whiskey on our local market led to speculation about paint thinners and prices. We looked out bottles of Tamiya X-20 and X-20A at the club, and noted the recent price rises. It’s now $ 15 – $ 18 for 250ml.

Then I went onto the Damn Murphy’s site and looked for the cheapest rot-gut vodka – $ 31 for 750 ml.

At a mean price of $ 16.50 a bottle, Tamiya is 6.6¢ per ml. Vodka is 4.1¢ per ml. Given the fact that you can also make Moscow Mules with it, there would seem to be an attractive dual-purpose to it all. Now the booze is apparently distilled in France, which may mean something, but I am willing to bet by the time it goes in the airbrush with a spoonful of Cockpit Green and a drop of retarder, all will be well.

Alors, mes amies!

HOLD THE WEDDIN’!

We have just discovered an AUSTRALIAN vodka at $ 15.99. This would equate to 2.1¢ per ml. Jeepers…I’ve drunk more expensive water…

This disaster is too good to miss. I’ll go to Bottle Barn – wearing my tracky daks and uggs – and buy a bottle. Then I will dig out a Buster and an acrylic paint and see how close to critical meltdown I can get.

Will I drink it? At 16 bucks a bottle? No. I am willing to gamble with money – not my liver. Bunnings metho is safer.
