Well, the newest – this variant of the Vickers Wellington was kitted by Airfix recently and will be built as a Canadian aircraft – likely from the Vancouver squadron.
The two other Wellingtons in the collection come from Italeri and MPM. This is the most detailed version, and despite Airfix’s option of leaving interior detail out, I shall make it and photograph it. If it is hidden eventually, at least it will exist in these reports.

The kit moulding is precise and detailed. No loose parts in the bag and no flaws readily visible. The turrets are one-piece clear mouldings, for which I am eternally grateful. As usual I shall buy no after-market parts, but with a new kit like this they would be overkill.

The basic decals are fine, but I have had to raid the stash to find appropriate squadron markings – fortunately they exist. The only home-made part will be the serial number on a black panel – I cannot print grey in my inkjet on a clear patch. Trust me that it will look good eventually.

Love the new Airfix instructions. And this bomber will get a crew – I have some Revell RAF types in multi-pose who would provide the crowning touch.
