In this case to a famous regiment’s museum.

Members of the SMCWA were recently honoured to visit the regimental museum of the SAS regiment here in Perth. Overseas readers are urged to google up the history of the regiment – it is far too extensive and interesting for me to tally up. Prepare for a good long session on the net.

This visit was pre-arranged as there were security clearances needed – you’ll see 5 members of the club with lanyards and passes. Our President arranged the visit, having a past connection to the unit.

Once inside there were histories, images, trophies, vehicles, aircraft, and all sorts of equipment to see.

Some of it was familiar to club members – but it was all authentic. I didn’t attend myself but I am puzzling about the tiny bathtub with taps in one picture…

I note that scale model building is also valued to show some of the vehicles used by the regiment.

It seems a wonderfully done museum – the curators are to be congratulated.
