The Disappointment

I read a review once in a modelling magazine that was quite scathing about a brand of short-run kit: Merlin.

I don’t pay too much attention to this sort of bagging as I have made quite decent aircraft out of kits that other people would avoid. The garage kit may look bad to start with but can eventually be tamed.

I was delighted to be presented with a Merlin model of a Gloster Meteor when one was dumped at our model club. It was free and that is a good price.

Alas, it is likely never to be. The basic parts are rough, but promising, but one half of the fuselage is missing. I shall keep the kit for the whitemetal landing gear, and hope that another example of it turns up one day. Rather like getting a broken toy at Christmas.
