No, I’m wrong. One of 93. The Soviets only made 93 of this bomber.
They made them with three different engines, and experimented with the rest of the structure as well. One was used as a trans-oceanic transport to deliver Molotov to the UK and the USA…but the rest were used in penny packets for bombing raids in Russia and over Germany.

They were withdrawn early when they discovered corrosion and structural weakness in the wings. – but a few were later repaired and re-enforced for use as Arctic transport aircraft.

Not a major player in the game, when you consider the UK made over 7000 Lancasters, and the USA made some 12,000 B-17’s and 18,000 B-24’s.

But I liked the kit – eventually – and am proud to have completed it off my stash shelf. I’ll buy Amodel again, but not quite as complex as this.
