All you need is one – an opportunity, I mean. Then you can do the model you really want.
This Novo re-pop of a FROG mould comes along a complex pathway from 1971 through to 1980. I suspect the kit has lain dormant since then – a true survivor of Ye Olden Dayes. As I am another, we should get on famously.

It was a good kit for the period, and all that is required to make it a good kit again is the proper frame of mind. I received it from the committee of my club as a clean-out-the-store gift and I am not about to look it in the mouth. The fact that my collection already contains two modern Airfix Swordfish is irrelevant – this one will be dedicated to an aircraft currently preserved in Canada.

The Frog parts are surprisingly good – I see little obvious flash or sink mark trouble, and the fact that the kit has been started is no problem – the previous owner only got to the floats and torpedo and I do not need them for my version.

The decals are a Soviet production and 45 years old and you may have them by applying to this office with a note from your psychiatrist. That will not prevent them from fracturing and spoiling your build, but as I will be using my own printed decals and I cannot hear you scream…all will be well.

The instructions actually instruct.

And the colours are all easily found in the paint rack. I plan a library exhibition of all three Swordfish eventually, so this gift has been very kindly received.
