I can’t understand why Airfix did not make a 50¢ model of a MiG-29 in 1959 when I was a kid.
But, better late than never. The second kit in the Fifty Cent Fighter series is as neatly moulded as the Su-22 – and contains just as many traps for the unwary. I am delighted by this as it means I have a new opportunity to do damage control and learn a valuable lesson. Its like when I had that can of lighter fluid and the Zippo.

The sprue trees are fine, and again the gates have been restricted so that builders are not cutting off blocks of plastic that they will have to reshape. In this small a size, one could not really fear sink marks, though I suppose the odd ejector pin could mess things up big time.
The chief dangers are not reading the instructions carefully, and losing the tiny clear tree or the decal sheet. I tape ’em to the inside of the box as soon as I open it.m This doesn’t guarantee much but I’d have to misplace the entire kit to lose the details. No, stop placing bets…
