Hurricane Night Fighter – Part One – The Leftover Matchbox

Orphaned on the club’s Shelf Of Neglect.

Donated to yours truly, and eagerly seized upon. The kit was minus a canopy, but I have an extensive spares box. So this Hawker came to life.

The Matchbox kits are sometimes criticised for having pronounced panel lines. As this was to be a semi-matt coal black finish I knew there would be no problem.

The moulding is fine – little flash and no sink marks. the decals are aged, but will be taped to the window ofora few days to bleach out any yellowing of the carrier film.

The Instructions are perfectly good – and fortunately there are several real examples of this marque of Hurricane extant in museums – as well as one flying example. Thus the internet is well provided with reference views.

This’ll be the fourth Hurricane in the collection and no two alike – indeed there are several more that could be added in distinctive colours.
