The image that accompanies this post was taken with a Japanese camera and Japanese lens.
They are superb products that do a wonderful job. The products seen are also made in Japan – and they are excellent, too. Two pots of paint. I could not enjoy my hobby of scale model building without them.
But take a closer look – the Tamiya paint pot has English writing on the back to tell about the contents and precautions – the one from GSI Creos does not. In that case, and also with their excellent thinner, all the lettering is in Japanese.
A wonderful language, but one not shared by so many of the potential hobby buyers in North America, Europe, India and Australasia. We are at a puzzle to know what we have and how to treat it.
If Tamiya can do it, GSI Creos could as well – they are direct business competitors in Japan. And it would secure more sales and users overseas. It is frankly puzzling that they have not done it, or been compelled to do it.
Never mind tariffs – try giving us some direct information.
