When I bought this Airfix kit at the swap meet it was tightly sealed in a factory plastic wrap.
Once inside I found it was sealed again with side-stickers. No-one who had not purchased this plane was going to get in there! The plastic bag that held the parts was open, but nothing escaped.

The kit is 1996 re-pop of a 1966 mould, and may have period issues. I do not quail before these as I remember 1966 and it was a good year. The wings appear to fold, so that may be the choice there. I have decided not to apply the Royal Navy or Royal Netherlands Navy schemes – both look attractive, but there is a preserved Firefly in Royal Canadian Navy colours flying right now – how could I not?

It has been dismissed as a simplistic weekender by some of the other reviewers, but this sort of styrene sneering is belied by the fact that they go on to construct it to a high standard. I am hoping the decal sheet has aged lightly and can still be used.

For $ 10 I think I shall get a great deal of value.
