It’s hard to focus on lust as a Little World sin if you adhere to the Big World definition of it as purely sexual. Granted there are some pretty erotic little statuettes sold to the Japanese market but then you have to remember that these are the people who went mad over a man in a rubber dragon suit stamping on model railways – as well as Pokemon. If they are into that much miniature violence, can sex be far behind?
Getting lusty over a model Bristol Beaufighter or a collection of 1:64 gas station pumps is probably possible, but the practicalities of the sin are not well documented. It doesn’t appear in the criminal statutes of Mississippi and they’re recognised as pretty red-hot on everything else. If it was a real portal to hell, they’d know all about it in Biloxi.
The general run of lust in the Big World seems to involve taking clothes off – if the videos are anything to tell by. Yours or someone else’s…it’s a direct sort of thing. Very few titillating videos of people taking clothes off suburban clothes lines or out of the drier…this probably indicates that the prime focus is on the people and not the clothes.
In a modeller’s workshop this seems a little far-fetched. Either the place is too darn cold, full of rubbish, or crowded out with things that are hanging on wire coat hangers to dry. There are too many sharp objects lying around the workbench to encourage rolling and thrashing, and the state of the floor precludes anything there. It’s a sea of old masking tape, bits of sprue, and lost parts.
Possibly the only danger for the Little Worlder is when they become engrossed in a project to the extent that their partner gets sexually frustrated and goes out and sells their body on the street corner. This happens more often than you would think, and has been the ruin of many a fine layout. The husband comes home, says ” I’m feeling a bit Hornby tonight, baby…” and the wife knows that she might as well go out on the prowl herself…or be prepared to wire up turnouts.
When a good time involves a soldering iron and a wiring diagram, anything can happen.
