Hurry up and read this essay – I want to get on and write more. Come on, come on…move your eyes faster…Sheesh…
And get on with that model. You’ve had it for over a week and it’s still not done. The box says it’s quick to build…and who are you to make the manufacturer look bad. There must be something you can glue while you’re sitting on the john.
Oh, I know that paint takes time to dry. But not if you mix it with lacquer thinner and then hit it with a hair dryer. Or better yet – spray lacquer in the first place; a thin coat that dries faster. If you insist on using brushes, use big ones and paint fast.
And how about the business of soaking the decals before they’ll slide off the sheet. Airfix decals take 25 seconds to let go – the Czech ones slip after 6 seconds. That’s 19 extra seconds per insignia. And consider changing from RAF to USAAF – only one star per wing as opposed to two roundels and a fin flash per side. The Poms act like we have all the time in the world for this hobby…
And that’s another thing. Who has time to mask for camouflage these days? Why has Badger not produced the airbrush with two pots and two nozzles? You just pour green into one side and brown into the other, turn the compressor up to 100 psi, and pull the trigger. Anything within 5 metres is instantly and thoroughly camouflaged.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to run. My diorama is in the oven and I just heard the timer ding.
