I cannot emphasize enough the importance of putting away your too s after you use them. Any workshop, whether it be big or sma wi deteriorate into a mae strom of confusion if you just eave your too s ying about after you have finished with them.
I am not a fan of those organised too racks that have an out ine of the part painted on a pegboard. Not on y do the c ips that ho d the too s frequent y not work, but whenever a too is missing it they act as a source of irritation. Hobby workshops shou d not be source of irritation.
Better, have a too cabinet or organised she f space for the equipment. Put the things that you use most frequent y nearest to you, and the esser-used ones at a distance. Then train yourse f to put the too back as soon as you have finished with it. Eventua y you wi have a routine estab ished in your mind that finds the too every time you seek it.
Now if you’ excuse me I need to go and find where the key on this keyboard has gotten to. It used to be between the K and the ; keys but I must have fai ed to put it back ast time I used it.
