Regular day today. April Fools torment over for another year. Here’s the contents of the new Airfix kit:

Fuselage halves with a big space in the nose for variations in framing and windows.

Propellers, superchargers, and what looks suspiciously like a steam dome for a locomotive.

Internal framing bits and machine guns.

Detailed engines and cowlings.

Landing gear and some controls.

Upper wings and horizontal stabilizer parts.

Way Hay! Main spars to support the wings inside the skins. This bird won’t sag.

Lower wing parts. Note channels for turbo-superchargers. I will make these incredibly dirty.

Tailfeathers and wing air scoops.

Tyres – flattened with the weight.

The clear parts that provide so very much of the variant options for this plane.

Decal sheet – looks simple but count the stencils. A couple of days work there, alright.

Good, clear Airfix instructions.

Good, clear Airfix colour guide.

The Zen of stencilling…
I pronounce myself satisfied with the contents. I’ve got value for money. This will be a build that I reserve for the Tuesday Soviet after the Flying Boxcar is completed. Months of skillful enjoyment, I shouldn’t wonder.
