A recent comment regarding the 5-foot rule for judging scale models has prompted me to ponder on a possible classification list. No names, no pack drill – but I konw where a lot of mine sit on the scale.

- International contest winner.
- National contest winner.
- State contest winner.
- Local contest winner.
- Club display model.
- Home display model in cabinet.
- Home display model on desk or shelf.
- Workshop model.
- Three-foot-rule model.
- Five-foot-rule model.
- Twenty five-foot-rule model.

The odd thing about humans is we can be equally proud of each one of these – even if we have had little to do with the making of it. They are our scale children and can do no wrong.
Note: Twenty five-foot-rule children are more common that you might think.
