Nothing is uglier than a handsome or beautiful person before they are ready to be seen. Dressing-room portraits are invariably a strained thing and the more of them you don’t see, the better you feel.
The B-25 Mitchell bomber is no exception – The heading image may be excused for showing the prima donna with her wig and bra off – if you like that sort of thing – but there is no reason to see under her bottom when she has it all taped up.

Oh. I suppose one could admire the clever masking and sense of artistry – sort of an Art Deco canvas. But I wouldn’t, if I were you. It would only encourage more of the same. Still, I am proud of the way I boxed up the landing gear that had to be installed in the nacelles ( see part four ) and risked oblivion ever after. It did survive.
In a way, I am always torn a little when the time comes to unpeel the tapes and see what has resulted. All that work done that will be thrown crumpled in the bin. All that money gone. But then I am always boiling to see what I’ve gotten underneath…
