The interior detailing on the fuselage was finally done – here’s what it looks like with no additional parts or work:

The map is a decal. Pretty neat for no photo-etch. The other thing I commend Airfix for is the strut and former construction that mean the wings are going to go on right. Of course I checked them dry to make sure…

No dramas closing up.


And no real dramas with the Upper and lower M/G positions. Airfix provided the plug for the bottom and I made a plastic shelf inside loaded with Tamiya putty for the top one. The heavy scoring is to provide grip for a coat of Perfect Plastic Putty and eventually some surfacer


And, misgivings aside, I think we have a pretty good result. More sanding and filling needed, of course,

And on to the upper part of the wing. I know I said this was a bad idea, but I have come round to it since seeing how well this kit fits.
