The Northrop night fighter is ready to roam the dark skies. I have a feeling that it was just good luck on the part of the Japanese and Germans that it was so late in development. Had the Northrop designers not footled about with that power turret of .50’s on the top it would have been done that much sooner and been pouring 20mm cannon shells into the enemy that much faster.

In fact losing the turret would have meant that they could have done without the gunner and made the back that much smaller and lighter. But that’s indulging in hindsight…

The kit was a beauty, the stresses notwithstanding. Hobby Boss seems to have made several versions of this – probably only differentiated by one part and a decal sheet, but the other models were sold at a noticeably higher price. I’m delighted with this bargain.
