My Tuesday Soviet session has proved very productive. The Hasegawa Hellcat was opened and I commenced the cockpit at 9:00. I had wings and fuselage nearly ready for closure by leaving time – 12 noon. A session at home and the parts just slipped together. You’re looking at no filler whatsoever, and I suspect that none will be needed – the MEK welds the swarf into the line of the join.

I’ve re-enforced the firewall join inside the cowling with some Roket glue. The last thing I want is the engine collapsing backwards into the void. Roket is thinner than other PVA’s but sets fast and goes very hard.
And here is the state of play at the end of Wednesday – undercoated in two shades and a colour coat of Engine Grey Mr. Color over the fuselage. It’s set as hard as granite but I’ll give it even more time overnight before I peel the wing masks and reverse the coverage.
