I am not a novice in the business of a Czech kit. I know that there are beauties and beasts amongst them – I cut my teeth on one of the latter and am always grateful now when I meet with the former.
This AZ model was ordered in the same batch that saw the Miles Magister – and that was a little gem of a trainer. I may have let my enthusiasm overwhelm me in contemplating a biplane.

The sprue tree is decent enough – little flash and a reasonable wing and fuselage shape. The struts, however are crude and the locating mechanism for them non-existent. I will have to drill holes in the wing to accept the ends of them – 16 holes for 16 mating posts that all have to be in the right place at the same time…I am not sanguine about this.

The instructions are diagrammatic , coloured, but a little vague in places…

The decals look good, and the yellow colour scheme is still flying in a collection. So I walk the yellow brick road yet again with trepidation and hope.
