No good feeling your wrapped presents or shaking them round if your friends are imaginative enough to shop outside of the boundaries. They can buy something that looks like nothing that you recognise under a coat of paper.
Thus it was when my friend Warren handed over a strange lumpy parcel at the Chrissie dinner. No rattles, no squeaks, no smell, and no squish. There was nothing to do but tear off the wrapping and face the music.
And you see the result. I wrote about circle cutters some time ago and he read the column. Our local art store sells them, apparently, and lo and behold.
This is going to be used immediately to make a set of RCAF roundel masks for an upcoming build. I’ve found that you need not be any more exotic in material choice than plain old green 3M tape from Bunnings ….With an Olfa cutter one can prepare 6 separate identical masks and not have to try to re-use them after the first spray.
The cutter will also pave the way to painted insignia for US and Israeli warplanes. I realise it is difficult to get an easy mask for stars…no matter how many points they have, but I will endeavour to work out a dodge for that. Or a Dodge insignia…
