Mitsubishi Ann – Part Five – Fillet Of Mitsubishi

With soy sauce and a few fish eggs…

Actually the Ann took more filler than I expected to get a smooth fuselage/wing interface. I didn’t mind – I’d done the hard yards with those pins so the filler was worth it,

Note that the Ann’s undercart is one of the chief charms of the design and the fit was again a butt joint. So it was out with the pin vise and the drill bits again – and with a smaller diameter drawing pin – they are firmly pinned into the wings.

The kit is fun, but there are a few design decisions that are counter productive. Look at the short stub they mould for the propellor to cement to. In another build I will get to this sort of thing, drill it out, and attach a proper drive shaft. I don’t need the windmill to revolve, but I do need it to stay on.
