Dassault Ouragan – Part One – Right To The Door

This is one of the kits that was brought to our model club by a chap selling a stash – though another member has suggested that they were the result of a trip to the orient and a suitcase full of plastic brought back home. Some people think this an imposition on the builder – I do not. It means that someone else had the trouble of the journey and I get the benefit of the shopping. I am more than happy to pay a regular price for this as it brings a kit that just doesn’t appear on our local shelves.

The Valom kits are no surprise any more – Czech short-run but on the good end of it. This one seems to have a sensible combination of characteristics. A resin seat, a spare resin nose wheel, a small PE sheet, and the rest in well-formed injection plastic.

Nearly all on one sprue tree – just a couple of smaller weapons trees to deck it out. I’ll actually hang this one with the weapons as it is destined for Schmattarim. It is even in my favourite camouflage colours, though the big teeth at the front are a little off-putting.

However. they were real and as long as the decal for them goes down well I will display it with those markings.

The sprue trees look flash-free so I am looking forward to a start on this one. No idea where the nose weight will go, however.
