To sand it flat, re-prime it, and go again is …well, not divine…but better human. Human modeller…specifically one who has matured past the point of throwing the model at the wall and swearing at the family.
Not that they don’t deserve it…
Your errors need not be those of judgement or malice. You can just forget what you are doing at times. I did on the centre seam of a recent build and got all the way through to the colour coat before I realised it. Fortunately it was a seam that had been done with slow acting medium viscosity cement. It had melted enough of the material to get a good weld and oozed up out of the gap. Thus I had a miniature mountain range in silver sticking up out of the plane.
Also fortunately it was on a fuselage that was fabric covered – a little uneven contour would never be seen. I could knife and sand it down and then re-spray the seam. No-one will ever know I’d forgotten to do it originally. Would have been a nightmare on a curved panel line.
Moral? Pay attention, Stupido. And inspect carefully under a powerful light when in the undercoat stage.
