I really should have taken more pictures whilst building the Viper, but it was a Club Day build and went ahead by leaps and bounds.
The final product has proved yet another lesson for me; one may be pleasantly surprised as readily as be dismayed. I’ve experienced the latter enough times with eastern European kits – and to be honest expected it from this Chinese one. However, it fell on the good side of the line after all.

Very small parts, but sharply enough defined on the sprue trees to permit clipping off and cleaning up. A dismaying number of aerials but these could be cemented on at the end. A clear canopy, but it fits only where it touches.

The rotor assembly is quite detailed and I’m proud of my patience in setting it together. It depends on a lot of PVA to remain so.

The two-part fuselage sides were also a worry but have disappeared under the filler and paint. I shall not encourage viewers to search for them.

Decals are thin but set down under Micro Sol. They are not Cartograf quality, but for lo-vis do just fine.
In short, I am satisfied with the build – I should have assigned a $ 30 price to it in a shop, but as it was a free gift from a friend, the model is much more valuable.
